Newsflash from the creatures @ 10:52 am

Well, we’re back! Wish we could say we were all rested up, but it’s quite the opposite! But we made it through and are excited to announce the release of our newest sketchbooks: Thoughts, Scribbles + Madness: Volume 2 and Palindrone Robot Supply.
Thoughts, Scribbles + Madness: Volume 2
Thoughts, Scribbles + Madness: Volume 2 follows monstrously in the footsteps of our first sold-out book Thoughts, Scribbles + Madness: Volume 1, complete with a bonus DVD! This book is 28 full color pages of re-envisioned designs from the site and many designs that are exclusive to the book and will not be featured anywhere else! Combined with a DVD of over 40 minutes of time lapse start-to-finish designs, this book has just about everything we could think of in it.
Palindrone Robot Supply
Palindrone Robot Supply is our newest outlet for robot designs. This 28 page book is packed full of 125 exclusively designed robots. If you like robots, this’ll be a fun one for you.
Both books will be available exclusively at Stuart Ng Books at San Diego Comic-Con Booth 5012 this year for there initial release. We will be signing the books at Stuart’s booth on Saturday, July 25th from 4-6pm. We will not have our own booth this year, which is a real bummer because we loved meeting everyone that came by last year. But please stop by Stuart Ng and say “Hi”, we’d love to see you all again and meet everyone else!
And for those of you who can’t make it to the show, we’ll have the books for sale shortly after on the site so anyone who is interested can get one too.
We had such great feedback from all of you on our first book, and are looking forward to hearing what you think of this year’s efforts. See you at Comic-Con!
*Update*
Once we begin selling the books through the site, we will have international shipping options for all the fellow CreatureBoxers around the world. So if you can’t make it to the show, the books will find a way to slither to your door!

I was extremely fortunate to be included in the 2009 Into the Pixel exhibition featured at E3 in Los Angeles. The gallery will feature 16 pieces highlighting some of the conceptual development throughout the games industry from the past year. If you’re making your way over to the conference, you can check out the show in the Concourse foyer adjacent to the West Hall.
In other news, our San Diego plans (and projects) are coming together. We’ll be sure to keep everyone posted. Rock onward!

Got me some Tablet PC!!! Oh toys. Expensive frickin’ toys, but it is so cool. And now I can get my work done outside the studio in the company of my beautiful wife. And on the GO!!! Which the future is boding quite a lot of it seems.
And to that end, CreatureBox is taking a month off from posting. Not from being CreatureBox, but we need some time to wrap up a couple of big projects and finish our ComicCon deadlines. It’s all very hush hush, but as always, we have been toiling away behind the scenes and can’t wait to share. Stay tuned!!! And we’ll see you in a month!
But to keep everyone busy, we are handing out a homework assignment. 300 words on what you did on your summer vacation! Nah…we want to expand the site a bit in the coming months. One part will be an FAQ. We get a lot of technique questions, professional questions, absurd questions, and a few questions we actually know the answers to. So ask away in this post. We’ll compile a list and do our best to answer what we can without giving away all our secrets.
And GO!!!! Now off to work. Peace.

We joined the billions of others this weekend to take in the new Star Trek. The series looks to be heading in a really cool direction and J.J. gets a big thumbs up from me. I wouldn’t consider myself a Trekkie but my wife and I get a kick out of catching the original series here and there. Can’t ever go wrong with Shatner slugging a dude in a lizard constume.
Speaking of lizards, here’s one crusin’ at nearly warp speed on a space aged Vespa.
