A lot of emails and comments come in asking about the software we use to draw with. Well, we are happy to let you all in on the smoothest little drawing software out there; Autodesk’s Sketchbook Pro 2010! We have been very fortunate to be a part of the development of the latest release and were invited to provide the cover art for this year’s version. If you have a chance to use the trial, you’re bound to have a new favorite tool for drawing! Many thanks to the team at Autodesk!

Congrats! My boys made it on the cover! Well deserved! Kickass design!
you guys are great! the only thing wich still missing is a rotating pegbar (as in toon boom), it helps a lot to do cleanup for who use tablet instead of cintiq.
anyway a good work!
keep rock!
wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
there is!!!! the screen spin with the layers!
i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m an avid user of Sketchbook Pro. I use it in all my artwork. When I show my work, most don’t believe it’s digital. Flaviano mentioned screen spin, but what are the improvements of the previous version that would want me to purchase?
How much is different from 09? how would you upgrade?
I’m going to answer my own question . . . the ruler and eclipse tool is worth hands down! I’ve had to use Photoshop and the line tool when handling backgrounds of building and such. Those days are officially over!!
Only full version at $100, no upgrade cost . . . bummer.
Here are some features worth having for a 100 bucks:
Elipse tool=Awesome.
Line tool=Awesome.
Symmetry tools=Really cool and uber helpful.
Marking Menus=Amazing and speeds up process incredibly.
Rotate Canvas=Great if you are on a tablet.
New Custom Brushes= Has some great potential.
Its still a lightweight program, but that’s why we love it so much, and they are only trying to make it smoother. Worth every penny!
Awesomeness!! Great job!
Hey guys,
I’m curious if you use sketchbook pro from rough to clean to color? The videos in your artbook suggest that you use one program throughout the whole process, but I can’t get the hang of coloring with it. I always wimp out and hit up photoshop for the clean and color!
It would be wicked awesome if you’d post a video with you guys talking over top, and name dropping tools or tricks of the program.
Keep up the great work and thanks for the inspiration!
Hey guys,
I was fortunate enough to snag one of the last copies of your “Volume One,” fantastic work. I’m with Tyler on having a video with you guys talking a little bit more about the process.
I’m testing out the trial of Sketchbook Pro and will most likely purchase the software. It really clicks with me.
Thanks so much and congrats on the cover of Sketchbook Pro!
is also possible to rotate on perspective a selection.
nice thing!
I’ve used SB since 2.0 and I can’t wait to pick up this latest addition. I totally agree that if you are on a tablet, it is just hands down an amazing program to work with because like you said, it is so lightweight and smooth. Just a very easy to use intuitive program.
Killer cover BTW!
Stellar work guys!! Love it all. Just a quick question. Do you do all of your work in Sketchbook, from start to finish? In the future, could you show us a look at your process? Thanks guys! Keep up the amazing work!
Does SBPro mean digital only? Can you scan in your pencils and use that as a base layer in SB?
Cheers.
I am messing with the trial and trying to learn this stuff, I think I need to look up some tutorials though.
I did make a cool custom ink pen brush though!
I am so lovin’ SBP 2010. Before I used to only use it for quick sketches or just doodling while doing my final work in AI. But I’m seriously on the verge of switching to doing everything with SBP. Photoshop and Painter used to be my only options when it came to digital sketching and I have to admit that I never really cared for either of them. There are way too many “bells and whistles” that I feel just get in the way of my creativity.
I discovered SBP back when it first came out but I hadn’t seen anyone really use until I came across Creaturebox. Now I’m inspired to do more with it than just doodle.
Thanx for the inspiration guys.
Hey this is stunning! I use ASBP for storyboarding…but u guys how do u get such perfect circles curves etc-damn beautiful lines work! Thanks! Inspiring stuff!
hi im 13 and im trying to draw a robot but i need refrence matiral and i was wondering if i could have a copy of that robot drawing of yours.
