So Greg is on his way across the country, driving solo with his large dog and feisty cat. It’s a hell of a way to spend Thanksgiving but that’s just how he rolls. Oddly coincidental, as I rode the wave of shoppers today I came across the limited edition action figure above. Talk about a deal, even after rummaging through the assorted bin of toothpaste and those really large bouncy balls. Small world!
The ‘Box hopes everyone had an awesome holiday and wish you safe travels wherever you’re headed. Winter is just around the corner!

Hahaha… if only all of us could have our own action figures of ourselves!!! Soooo cool!! Nicely done.
man I get excited when I my blogroll says there’s a new post on creature box-and this post was no let down!
awwwwwwesome idea and perfectly executed LOL! wow I wanna make my own (crappier) version
so good!
NICE!!! I love the way you treated the action figure’s hands. So much skill.
I would spend 99 cents on this,… heck yeah I would.
LOL i Iove it, I want to know what Greg Thinks About it.
That’s spectacular!

Wow! Just when you think you’ve seen it all….Dave, you knew when you posted this it was gonna be a hit!
Love it!
Dave,
How the hell’d you do that? I keep coming back and looking at this [because I like it so much] and I can’t help but wonder who you made the action figure and the clear plastic casing. I mean it looks like you would’ve used a 3d imaging program or something. What’d you use? How’d you do that? What do I have to give you so you’ll tell me how you did that? TELL ME!!!
Love the work

OK. This is absolutely ridiculously amazingly awesome!
Firstly- The fake packaging is top notch. From the worn cardboard look to the gummied up stickers and price markdowns. Greatness! The plastic holding the figure in is rather cool also.
Secondly- The caricature of Greg on the cardboard is hilarious. The style, the pose, the look on his face is priceless. That would have been quite enough but…
Thirdly- That toy. Oh my… that toy is so damn cool. I would put that right up on my mantle. My wife would yell at me every day but I wouldn’t let her take it down. All toys should look that good. That style is so cool. And I don’t know how you made it look so real, like a big chunk of plastic goodness. Although, being able to fit that little wrench into his big ham fist doesn’t seem too likely.
So two great caricatures for the price of one. Thank you, you deserve the rest of the day off.
Thanks guys, I think I’m going to poke fun at Greg far more often!
Grayscale: Thanks! Only software used was sketchbook and photoshop – no 3d madness. I actually painted the toy by itself first then brought a flattened version back into my comp. From there I was able to expand a selection of the silhoette to create the plastic packaging. Once the back card was finished I added some additional lighting and shadows to ground the elements.
Noah: While I don’t want your wife yelling at you, if you can drum up about 2000 preorders, we’ll make a Greg action figure – perfectly tailored for your mantle. As far as days off, well, those are a lot harder to come by!
You are my hero! Well-done!
oops. I just read the sticker and unfortunately I am over 21 years old. Therefore, I am not allowed to own this figure. Also, It says not for oral use so what would I do with it anyway?
BTW, is it me or does Greg look a little bit like that guy from the Mythbusters TV show?
Very very cool
