Gone Fishin'
As you might have heard (’cause we can’t keep out mouths shut about it), we got to work on a short comic with Skottie Young for Marvel. It was a blast! You learn a lot when you just have to go for it. So today I wanted to see if I could do a full page from concept to color in under 8 hours. Turns out you can, but you gotta hustle and be happy with all of your mistakes! Here they all are!!!

Mistakes – pfft don’t worry about em! you’re mistakes look pretty sweet. I really like the way you did the teeth in the last frame!

Great comic. The gag at the end gave me a good chuckle. Thanks for taking the time to do it.

Got Volume 3 of the sketchbook and watched the videos last night. Thanks for taking the time to put some quality stuff together. It’s very inspirational and I personally appreciate the quality put into it.

  5. How the heck do you work sooooooo fast? One page in that time frame? WOW! You must have a neat bag of tricks. Please, please please reveal at least some of them…or create an instructional dvd or something.
    You are da man!

There’s no such thing as a mistake, just a new feature. (Unless it’s insanely obvious, which its not here)

  7. when and where can I get this?!

haHA! Nah, this was just for fun. Maybe it’ll turn into something down the line, but there are no plans for it other than what yo see here.

Thanks guys! We’re trying to find our own way to get into comics that won’t require us to kill ourselves in anyway. But man, comics are a beast!!
