Space Camp: Day 27
Life is good. The tidal wave of boxes has finally subsided as my wife and I get settled in our new place. Even the studio has started to take shape – this is the first time we’ve shared a studio space since college. (Though I think she would have preferred her own room when I was rockin’ to Bon Jovi: Slippery When Wet.)

As far as the image, I’m finding I really enjoy having bad things sneak up on characters. Not sure why but I’m guessing there’s some deep rooted Freudian complex at play.

    hahahaa awesome
I love the oblivious expression on the spaceman and how he’s crosss eyed staring at the lightbug
    hilarious and beautifully done

My dog Remy looks like that all, the, time! Well not all the time, but when he’s really happy he does. My wife signs his name on all family birthday cards with a lightning bolt beside it just like that one! Freudian? Hmmm… I certainly wasn’t a psych major ’cause all I know is that one tentical is totally gonna pinch that guys butt… then he’ll really be going into the light.

Hey Dave, love the expression and suit design! Just curious, I had asked before about the image size and resolution for some R&C layouts you guys did. For these character design post , what image size and resolution do you choose in skpro? Do you change anything once you transfer the file to photoshop? I’ve noticed my line work sometimes looks jagged when I transfer my tiff file from skpro to photoshop.

Thanks a lot guys! Javier, for the majority of our images we keep print resolution in mind. Usually this equates to at least 8×10 at 300dpi. Keeping images around 3000 pixels in Sketchbook and Photoshop should guarantee a decent print. For englargements, I’ve had some decent success with Alien Skin’s Blowup application. Hope that helps!
