Tricks and Treats

Palindrone Halloween Pack
It’s been a wild and crazy few weeks – sinus infection, computer upgrades, Halloween – but at least life is an adventure. This was our first Hallow’s Eve in the house. The turnout was pretty decent but we still have enough candy left over to bury in our bomb shelter. At least if the world ends I’ll have a great excuse to down those mini Nestle Crunch bars.

On the computer front, I’ve made the transition to Windows 7 x64. All went kinda smooth though I’m hitting a few bumps with Sketchbook. I’m finding that disabling the windows tablet services get the strokes nice but then the “Open” and “Save as” dialog boxes stop working. I’ve been able to use ACDSee as a work around but is anyone having any luck with this?

Alright, time to soak in the new time change darkness!

Those are great! My personal favorite is Boo. :)

Try going into C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\SketchBookPro2010 (or where ever you installed Sketchbook), right-click on sketchbookpro.exe (or it might not have the .exe if you don’t have file extensions turned on) and then go to the compatibility tab and enable compatibility mode for Windows XP service pack 3. Probably worth doing it for SketchBookSnapshot.exe too. I can’t guarantee this will work on your system, but I was able to recreate your problem and after doing this the dialog boxes appeared as normal. Good luck!

That was… so great. Simply amazing. I personally like Franky and Jack the most :D

I pretty much spent my time at home on Hallow’s Eve, watching “Night of the Living Dead” while I gave treats to trick-or-treaters.

I love Jack. He looks so menacing, until you get right down to the point(literally): He just wants candy.:)

    Hello Dave,

I’m a great fan of both your and Greg’s work. I’ve been visiting this site for almost 2 years now. I do have one small request. It’s been a long time since anything has been added to the Downloads >> Wallpapers section. Could you please add some of your work as wallpapers. I’ve had Optimus Prime as my wallpaper for quite some time now, but you’ve done so many more exciting sketches since then. I’m sure some of it can be given away as wallpapers. This is a sincere request from a sincere, yet not so wealthy fan (seriously, I’m from India and your books cost a lot in Indian currency). Please do think about it.
