Howdy folks! Well, we’re in the final stretch before Heroes Con (June 7-9) and we recently received our table info. If you’re in the area, swing by Table AA-914 in Artists Alley for some CreatureBox Madness.

We’ll have copies of The Monster Volume on hand along with some fancy prints and original artwork. We’ll also be taking head sketch commissions so come on by and put us to work.
To make the weekend even cooler, we’re sharing the 900 block with our pal Skottie Young (AA-915) in addition to drawing over at the Autodesk booth #822,921 on Friday and Sunday @ 11am. To round out the busy weekend, we’ll be part of a Kickstarter panel Saturday morning (check your program guide for exact times and room numbers). It’s going to be a party we tell you!
And for those looking to pick up some original artwork, the Heroes Art Auction on Saturday night is always a blast. This year we went with our childhood stepfathers: Bats and Optimus!
We’re looking forward to talking shop with all the CreatureBoxers out there so feel free to swing by and say hi, or just laugh and point fingers at us. We’re open to anything!
The Monster Volume: Book Launch!

The last 6 years have been one heck of an adventure. When we decided to collect our full body of work into The Monster Volume, we didn’t really know what to expect. Printing a larger scale project overseas was definitely a mystery to us, while adding Kickstarter to the mix cranked the roller coaster ride to 11.
Over the last 10 months we have been absolutely blown away by the support from CreatureBoxers across the world. We had our share of bumps, delays and monumental learning experiences, but you guys stood by us while we pushed these crazy cartoons out into the world. We can’t thank you enough for that.
After slaying the Kickstarter shipping dragons, we are excited to announce The Monster Volume is available now in our shop. This will be the last of our stock and we currently don’t have plans for a reprint. (We love self publishing, but we need to get our butts back behind the art table.) This might be your best chance to grab the creatures before they scurry back under the bed.
If you already have a book in hand, thanks again for the support! Please spread the word so we can find good homes for these little creatures.
We’re looking forward to returning to the blog with new images and projects, so keep your eyes peeled for the next monstrous chapter!

This week we delve into the Slugterra character designs for the Hooligan Crew, a group of thugs that are always up to no good. And you know you’re in for a good day when you’re asked to concept a robo Hyena.
We’ve also been working away on tons of sketch commissions for the Monster Volume Kickstarter Campaign. It’s been a nice break from the computer and we’ve tried to turn the Crazy Knob to 11.

If you’d like to follow along, we’ve expanded our social pixel slingin’ to a couple more locations:

Tumblr

Hope to see you there!
And don’t forget, our monstrous Digital Collection of our sold-out sketchbook series is hanging out in the shop! Make your mom proud!

This week we have a peek at the Slugterra character designs for Pinto, everyone’s favorite mole rat…man…
Also, we just added the Digital Collection of our sold-out sketchbook series to the shop! The download is a DRM-Free PDF for your desktop or mobile devices and clocks in at 130 pages of madness. It would probably make a great stocking stuffer, though you probably want to fit an iPad mini in there too.
It’s been an amazing year and we can’t thank you all enough for the support over the last several months. We have lots of plans rolling for 2013 and we can’t wait to share them with you. Have an awesome Holiday!

Once in a while a project comes along that we get pretty darn excited about. This time it came in the form of a screen print poster to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of Ratchet & Clank. Obviously we have a love for that lombax and his mechanical compadre like no other, but honoring the duo with a huge poster that GLOWS IN THE DARK was simply mind blowing.
The amazing folks over at iam8bit have the print for sale now! There wont be a lot of them, but we think they’ll look super cool hanging over the mantle while you roast chestnuts and sing carols this winter.
So get ‘em while they last!
And from everyone here at CreatureBox (Dave and Greg), we wish you an amazing and restful Holiday Season! We’ll catch you next year where there is sure to be onslaughts of maniacal robots, hordes of horrid creatures and some poor stranded spaceman that crashed into an unsuspecting planet….again.
