Got me some Tablet PC!!! Oh toys. Expensive frickin’ toys, but it is so cool. And now I can get my work done outside the studio in the company of my beautiful wife. And on the GO!!! Which the future is boding quite a lot of it seems.
And to that end, CreatureBox is taking a month off from posting. Not from being CreatureBox, but we need some time to wrap up a couple of big projects and finish our ComicCon deadlines. It’s all very hush hush, but as always, we have been toiling away behind the scenes and can’t wait to share. Stay tuned!!! And we’ll see you in a month!
But to keep everyone busy, we are handing out a homework assignment. 300 words on what you did on your summer vacation! Nah…we want to expand the site a bit in the coming months. One part will be an FAQ. We get a lot of technique questions, professional questions, absurd questions, and a few questions we actually know the answers to. So ask away in this post. We’ll compile a list and do our best to answer what we can without giving away all our secrets.
And GO!!!! Now off to work. Peace.

A lot of emails and comments come in asking about the software we use to draw with. Well, we are happy to let you all in on the smoothest little drawing software out there; Autodesk’s Sketchbook Pro 2010! We have been very fortunate to be a part of the development of the latest release and were invited to provide the cover art for this year’s version. If you have a chance to use the trial, you’re bound to have a new favorite tool for drawing! Many thanks to the team at Autodesk!

Well, we’re officially down to a very small handful of our first sketchbook: Thoughts, Scribbles, + Madness: Volume 1! We wanted to take a moment and send out a big thank you to everyone who has picked up the book – each sale has helped us continue onward with the site and we greatly appreciate the support. We look forward to new battles with the creatures inside (and we’ll post ‘em here as we go).
If you’re interested in picking up one the few remaining copies, feel free to click the sidebar icon or here for the shop. We won’t be reprinting Volume 1 so when they’re gone, they’re gone!
Thanks again,
- the creatures
*Update*
After shipping books to over 25 countries and 30 states, we’re Sold Out! If you missed it this time around, our friends at Stuart Ng Books may have a few copies left. Thanks again everyone!

Hey everyone,
We’d like to introduce you to an artist very near to our hearts. Greg’s wife Alia El-Bermani. She’s a painter worth taking a good look at. Her pieces are amazing, her shows are fantastic and her career is astonishing. We are huge fans. We’re adding her to our links so you can continue to follow her efforts as a painter. Enjoy!

For those familiar with Insomniac Games, you may of heard of the new North Carolina sister studio on the way in January ‘09. Well, I’m pleased to announce Greg and I will be part of the initial crew for the new team. This is an exciting opportunity for the both of us and we couldn’t be happier to be back East all while staying part of the amazing Insomniac family.
As a result, my wife and our two manic cats will be traveling across county next week. Our pilgrimage has been in the planning for quite some time and we’re looking forward to the journey. (I don’t know if I can say the same for our feline counterparts.) Greg will be on his way in the coming months once he wraps up a few odds and ends. As far as the website, we still plan to be very active with imagery and chatter so please be sure to stop by and visit. In regards to the store, effective immediately North Carolina residents will have sales tax applied to their order. All the California kids are now off the hook!
As always, Greg and I really appreciate the support from you all…we look forward to seeing you on the other side of the country as we polish our southern drawl.
Until next time,
dave
