Well it’s been busy getting back to work, hitting the ground running and trying not to trip! Things are going pretty well, even though we nearly killed ourselves re-skinning the site, I feel pretty refreshed and am excited to get back to a normal schedule. I haven’t had too much time to fill the moleskin these days though. That’s one thing I will find a way to squeeze back into life. I picked it up this morning and was re-inspired to hit the ink again and see what not having “undo” can unleash! I’m back to being scared.
On another note, I’m about to submit this snapshot I took this weekend of our dear friend Thorndyke for the contest! Without any other postings of him on the flickr site, I think I’m gonna win! Who’s gonna stop me? Let’s see ‘em!

It always excites me to see your Moleskine sketches!
me too! I love seeing your line work. very inspirational.
I’m at that point where I’m so jealous of your skill that I almost hate you. I mean that as a complement, of course.
Great stuff as always!
Great as always! I love the guy on the right. I can see some gorilla, dog, lion, and a horned animal that I can imagine but cannot think of the name. lol
Nice job, Greg.
I like how it’s “Oh I just woke up and half asleep sketched this masterpiece.”
Great stuff, I was wondering what size sketch book you work in. And is this with a brush tip pen or an “Old School” brush?
Haha! To be clear, I woke up and wanted to draw more in my book because I saw the fun I was having in the pages I had already done…this page being one I had already done. Now I just need to get back into gear and do more!
And these are with the brush pen. The book is 5×7 I think. We did try some sumo ink with a series 7 brush. That worked really well. I’d like to do some more with that setup too.
Loved the distressed graphics for the new look here. Also, dinosaur and ice cream is an instant win.
I’ve never had much success with ink/brush pen in my moleskin…everything always smears =(.
I’m liking it.
Great stuff (as always!) Love the sketches, makes me envious beyond belief. Keep up the good work…..
Haha, like you nedd lil’ ol’ me to tell ya that!
George
Fantastic as always my friend. Like Josh from an earlier post said, I too am so jealous of your talents that I almost hate you… but I hate with love, so it’s okay. I’m taking Jordu Schell’s creature workshop and having to design my own creatures. I’m light years away from your abilities, but it’s nice to know I have place to go to have my brain wrinkled. By the way, there are a couple of people from Insomniac in the class.
Give a big hug to your wife from us.
Very goooooood!!!
Really great sketches!
How did you accomplish the lovely “gradient” toning on the primates hair? It almost looks like diluted ink, but it’s so clean and not blotchy in the least!
